Pleasant is probably the best way to describe this Myrrh debut for Grover Levy. There's some nice tunes, it's all very well played but somehow it lacks something. It's very polished, the musicianship is excellent and Grover writes good songs but it doesn't quite cut it. There are some nice moments like the ballad "Sanctuary" which lifted me to God and has an inspirational pop feel. The acoustic shuffle of "Giants In The Land" is fun and the bluesy gospel groove of "Never The Same" is almost infectious. "When We Fail Love" is a poignant song about a relationship break up which makes me think. I desperately want to fall in love with this but I think that we'll stay friends instead.
