The great Andrés Segovia once described the guitar as "an orchestra in itself"; that is definitely evident in Jason Carter's new album. This CD includes 12 beautifully composed and performed masterpieces. Jason and Ragatal have done an excellent job of breaking all the cultural barriers through unity in music, bringing together music from Spain, Arabia, India and Egypt and reminding us that this truly is "a small world" after all. They have also managed to mix different styles of music and instruments, including jazz and classical music, with the acoustic and electro-acoustic guitars, violins and bass guitar. I really enjoyed the sparse percussion throughout the album - the steady beating of drums and the occasional sounds of the rain stick added to the overall ambience. A tranquil, peaceful CD makes for a perfect audio backdrop when you just want to chill out and relax.
