It is hard to argue with the sticker that says "The definitive Johnny Cash gospel collection" as this lovingly compiled set offers 24 tracks including three previously unreleased recordings. Billy Graham endorses the album and appears on the second track "The Preacher Said 'Jesus Said'" which originally appeared on Johnny's 'Man In Black' album. I was pleased "That's Enough" from Johnny's first Columbia album 'The Fabulous Johnny Cash' is included, as I always thought it was a great gospel song even before I became a Christian! I also just love "He Turned The Water Into Wine" which Johnny wrote for his 'Gospel Road' album and film. From his 'Ring Of Fire' album there is his stunning version of that beautiful spiritual "Were You There (When They Crucified My Lord)" with the beautiful high voice of the late Anita Carter in the background. Other great tracks include "Belshazzar" and his 1970's country hit "Daddy Sang Bass". The recording quality of the album is first class. So do yourself a favour, go out and buy it!
