This is the second album from this Sheffield-based singer. Philippa once again had her album produced by Andy Baker and highlights include the full on pop tracks "He'll Love Me", "Just Your Girl" and "All Those Years" while the funky "Return To Love", the moving ballad tracks and the country influenced "Where Do I Go?" all hit the mark. Philippa's lyrics are refreshingly honest, for example she explains that she is still trying to get it right on the turntable hit "Work In Progress" and questions why she keeps re-visiting the negative things she does not want to do in "Predictable". 'Taste' is a welcome addition to Philippa's repertoire and once again shows off Miss Hanna's impressive soul-tinged vocals. A definite grower.

Product Description
Quirky, fresh and catchy with a rare tenderness and honesty, Taste will undoubtedly grab your attention from the opening bar. Pigeonholing her sound is not easy as this commercial sounding project leans toward the left-field. The mellow backdrop of Where Do I Go? is contrasted by the slamming guitar driven Changing My Mind and Spoiled. Soulful and singable, this album is on the whole uplifting though occasionally juxtaposed with contemplation and meditative questions. You won't be bored by these songs...they will charm you, float around your head and soothe your soul. Don't be surprised when you find this album permanently lodged in your CD player..
