Look just leave me alone a minute will you. I've been sitting on the third row at Chicago's Christ Tabernacle Baptist Church listening to these righteous brothers and sisters making the goings-on in Psalm 150 seem pale by comparison. O.K. the ground's stopped moving so let me report that if you thrill to being engulfed by powerhouse black gospel, 'Open Our Eyes' reaches peaks of electricity that are almost alarming. Not much point listing tracks for you, most of the fare has predictable content. Rev. Brunson solos on 'I'll Trade A Lifetime' apart from that I'm not sure what he does, a father-figure I guess. What we have as a major plus here is a batch of the most soulful, stunning-soloists you're likely to find on the planet, a blazing brass section, rock-solid rhythm, and a muscle bound choir which ignites from the green light. Impressed? If this album don't jerk you to your feet, your doctor can't help you.
