The Rock Worship are based in Anaheim, California and are part of the multi-site The Rock church. 'Only By Your Grace' is their fourth full length worship album and contains 11 tracks which are all originals written by the worship team under the leadership of worship pastor, David Dirmann. The album as a whole contains a nice blend of songs, reflecting upon different aspects of God. The vocals are prominent and easily heard and lead guitar features strongly in a majority of the songs. The album kicks off with an energetic celebratory fizz and "There Is Freedom" certainly gets you in the mood for a praise party! This song is based upon 2 Corinthians 3:17 and provides a great rallying call to worship. The title track stands out as a well written worship song that has the flexibility to be sung in a variety of contexts by many churches and will sit well alongside songs by the likes of Hillsong and Bethel Music. "We Crown You King" turns down the volume and allows your heart-rate to return to a more stable rhythm. This song is an excellent re-working of the old hymn "All Hail The Power Of Jesus' Name" and brings the song bang up to date and enables it to fit well within the modern worship context. Being picky, some elements of the production quality are not as polished as other worship bands, but on the whole this album has a lot to offer both for the worship leader looking for new songs and those wanting a great album to worship along with in the car.
