The last recordings of Johnny Cash released on album 'American V'

THE LAST Johnny Cash recordings made shortly before his death in September 2003 have been released on the album 'American V: A Hundred Highways' (American Recordings/Lost Highway). Featuring mostly covers including Rod McKuen's "Love's Been Good To Me", Bruce Springsteen's "Further On (Up The Road)" and the traditional spiritual "God's Gonna Cut You Down", the album has already received rave reviews. Wrote Q magazine, "It might sound like the last desperate scrapings from the bottom of the barrel labelled The Man In Black. Wrong. Full of humanity, declarations of eternal love and the prospect of Heaven, it makes a dignified final addition to the American Recordings series."  CR
