Something new and fresh is happening in Britain's praise and worship ministry. A new wave of new, young worship songwriters like Mike Giddins, Mike Stanley and above all Martin Smith have emerged to breathe new creative life into the soft pop end of worship. Just when the P&W publishers, record companies and Bible week organisers seemed to have created a charismatic dinosaur too reliant on personality cults, entrenched conservatism, and hyped-up marketing, along has come a fresh bunch of worship singer/songwriters - chaps like Littlehampton-based Martin Smith. You should already know his song "Lord You Have My Heart" featured here. It is one of the most haunting new worship songs circulating the churches.
