Fresh from the success of 2003's 'Mercy' album, Eoghan (pronounced Owen, for all those who wondered) Heaslip is back with 14 brand new songs, recorded live in his home church in Dublin earlier this year. The set of songs begins underwhelmingly, but things kick into gear with "King Of The Ages", a driving praise anthem that incorporates the enthusiastic congregation to stirring effect. This sudden injection of passionate praising people is great, but also serves to highlight the rather bland and workmanlike playing of the band. On the plus side, Eoghan has clearly been listening to lots of popular guitar music, and the worship songs "How Majestic" and "Come And Heal Us" are straight out of the Coldplay/Snow Patrol book of songwriting (sparse verses + huge choruses = anthemic hits!). Lyrically, the songs are packed with excellent biblical truth, sometimes conveyed in overly familiar phrases, but generally singable. Overall, the album lacks the needed spark to make it brilliant, and is definitely too long (cutting the first two songs would have made it so much better), but it's worth listening to for the two or three top rate songs it contains.

I was introduced to the CD (Grace In the Wilderness) by a
friend. I immediately fell in love with the worship music.
I was fimiliar with several of the songs because I had heard
and sang alone to them during our worship & praise portion
of our services. I love every minute of the CD and listen
to it in my car daily.

If you loved his second album, then you should listen to his first one....it really can help you worship God intimately!
Praise Him!
