Graham Kendrick is, of course, one of the most proficient and prolific worship songwriters of the last 30 years and collecting 50 songs out of his vast catalogue was probably no mean feat. This CD-ROM collects together sheet music, guitar chord sheets and lyrics sheets in printable PDF format of some indisputable classics - "Meekness And Majesty", "From Heaven You Came", "All I Once Held Dear", "Shine Jesus Shine" and "Rejoice, Rejoice" (to this day the only song that gets our church congregation clapping voluntarily). There are also a few that perhaps you'd rather forget - it's unlikely we'll be singing "God Is Good" or "I'm Special" again anytime soon. So, being a bit of a hoarder I like the principle of collecting together songwriters' best works in this format but I wonder in reality what purpose this disc serves. Every one of these songs has been available in books for years and the modern worship leader is unlikely to decide to dip into much of this back-catalogue too often just because it's been re-packaged on a trendy CD-ROM. An additional downside is that the claim to be 'Ultimate' falls rather short when some of Kendrick's more recent work is completely overlooked, despite being rather good. The CD-ROM format could also be better exploited - presentation is good but why not have videos where Graham gives us a masterclass or breaks down the best way to play a particular track? Why no MP3 guide tracks or audio? Some advice on arrangements and harmonising? A book format for E-readers? Why not Graham's 100 best songs? OK, so I'm being fussy and for £12.99, this does do the job it set out to do. One final gripe. If you are looking for a specific song you should do some homework to make sure that it's definitely on here.
