To use an expression that has cropped up in one form or other in CR before, the LCGC's newest offering is a landmark in the history of British gospel music. For a start, it's the debut release from the newly launched FAR (Future Arts Recordings) record label, who promise some pleasant surprises in the near future. Then there's the album itself. Bazil Meade and Co have made records before, but have never really sounded their true selves on them. Not this time. Right from the moment the drummer counts the band in on "Happy Are The People" you know you're in for something special - and it just gets better with each new song. They've gone for an organic, live feel in the making of the album, and the result is a record truly worthy of the "100% pure soul" tag.
