Reviewed by Tony Cummings I don't mind admitting I was worried about my eight year old son's reviews of the first three albums in this series in CR23. It wasn't just that we'd messed up and got the labels/distributor wrong. But Asher's reviews had been, how can I put it, less than enthusiastic. Phrases like "very, very, very, very, very boring" and "I'll never listen to them again because they're dreadful" did seem a bit strong. So I took 'Action Bible Songs', banged it into the cassette player and tried not to pre-judge. I like many of the songs here - "Onward Christian Soldiers", "His Banner Over Me Is Love" and "Rise And Shine (Arky, Arky)". By the end of the album I was greatly encouraged. My boy has a great career in music journalism ahead of him. 'Action Bible Songs' was very, very, very, very, very boring. Stupefying, uninterested sweet voiced kids singing over a set of tracks which sounded like they were knocked out in an afternoon on a cheap Casio. I threw the tape in my give-away box. I knew I'd never listen to it again because it was dreadful.
