If, as the song goes, "the heart of worship" is "all about you Jesus", we perhaps shouldn't be too bothered about always having the original songwriter versions of popular worship songs. And if that's true, then in many respects the successful US/UK recorded double-CD series keeps on delivering the goods. Like its precursors Vol 4's expansive "live" sound and workmanlike arrangements are capably produced, with another generous 30 songs drawing together material from a remarkably wide spectrum of songwriters. There's the ubiquitous Matt Redman's "Blessed Be Your Name", "Your Love Is Amazing" and "Surrender" from Vineyard (UK) songwriters, Soul Survivor's Tim Hughes and Martyn Layzell are represented with "Beautiful One" and "Sovereign Lord" respectively, and amongst songs from the Hillsongs is "Blessed" by Reuben Morgan/Darlene Zschech. Broadening the scope still further, the song list also includes the CCM/worship crossover of songs emerging from the 'City On A Hill' collective - Mac Powell (Third Day): "King Of Glory"; Sara Groves: "He's Always Been Faithful" and Steve Hindalong/Marc Byrd: "Sing Alleluia". Too many songs to list in much detail, but another useful and usable collection.
