22 albums, 33 number one singles, countless awards and concerts over the course of a 28 year career. And it's fair to say that each recording still sounds like it could have been recorded today. However to someone who has not been familiar with Twila's successful CCM career previously, the songs seem to swim in an already full pond of contemporary worship songs. It's easy listening, very accessible and easily learnt for church worship teams, which is probably the point for someone like Twila Paris, so I guess the songs really do (and have done for many years) serve their purpose. However, I would love to hear something slightly more interesting from such a gifted songwriter and singer. Everything sounds perfect and nice, but a slightly more gritty Twila Paris album in the future would be intriguing. But as this is a review of an album that documents her career to date, fans of her will love it, featuring classics such as "The Joy Of The Lord", "We Bow Down", "God Is In Control" and many others. Also worth a listen if you're a fan of Nashville CCM.
