Having singled out Twila's CCM hit of 1984 "The Warrior Is A Child" as a Spirit Of Rock And Soul classic, any album that starts with that haunting pop gospel ballad is bound to be well on the way to winning plaudits from me. The fact is Twila's first batch of Milk And Honey albums which are the source for this compilation were rather patchy so there was a good chance to thin out some of the dated pop ballads and easy listening and leave us with the gems. Unfortunately, the compilers have kept some dull stuff and omitted gems like Telling The Truth In Love". Oh well, Twila has a sweetly distinctive voice, can write a tuneful hook and occasionally makes an incisive spiritual point. If you haven't got those early albums you might want this.
