Reviewed by Ian Hayter Nashville writer and producer Stephen Elkins (along with a staff of educators, teachers and parents), has put together a whole series of CDs and DVDs featuring well loved children's Bible songs linked to appropriate Bible stories. The songs are sung by kids, accompanied by some pretty basic programmed music in a fairly jolly style. Each of the songs is preceded by a short (usually well under a minute) and very succinct re-telling of a Bible story relating to the song, with some (very!) basic sound effects. This CD is in exactly the same style of the previous offerings, with, for example, "Father Abraham" preceded by the story of God's promise to Abraham and "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot" preceded by the story of Elijah's chariot of fire. For those who like such things, the last two songs, musical renderings of the books of the Bible in easily memorable form, will be very welcome, but once again, the voice of the story teller is rather too sickly sweet and patronising for my ears. However, the album is aimed at two-four year old toddlers, not middle-aged ministers.
