Reviewed by Andy Cooper Volumes 1-5 have already been reviewed by Cross Rhythms, but if they've passed you by, here is a chance to catch up with one big value package: 6 DVDs (over 80 songs) for around £50. The iWorship@Home series is designed to resource personal and home group worship with multi-media presentations including recent popular worship songs, along with inspirational scenes of God's creation. Volume 6 is the most recent addition to the collection and highlights include Eoghan Heaslip singing "Be Thou My Vision", Twila Paris' 20 year old "He Is Exalted" (still sounding reasonably fresh) and Lincoln Brewster providing some energetic rock with "Majestic". In the visual department, it follows the same formula as the preceeding volumes, though the use of key lyrics fading, flying, expanding, wobbling around the screen has on the one hand got more artistic, but on the other hand more distracting. Images from nature follow the same theme as before: low flying over beaches, sunrise over the mountains, fast growing flowers, clouds changing shape as the camera is sped up, water falls and so on. Sometimes it works well with the songs, but at other times it just draws attention away from the worshipful music. Think of it more as a worship presentation than a worship experience, and it could work well: perhaps to introduce Alpha course attendees to the concept of worship; or to play in the background of a church coffee shop or lounge. It could be a nice way to introduce an atmosphere of worship to any such venue or home.
