Tabernacle Prayer: 5. Table of Showbread (The Holy Place)
The showbread again is in the Holy place along with the lamp stand. This represents Jehovah Jirah (God who provides). Jesus in the New Testament is described as the Bread of Life (John 6:48) and in the Old Testament it says that man shall not live by bread alone but by God’s word (Deuteronomy 8:3).

A big step towards intimacy with God is trust. In this area of the tabernacle we can learn that God wants us to trust Him more and to believe that He will provide for us. In the Sermon on the Mount Jesus spends a large amount of time teaching on not to worry but to trust God who will provide for us (Matthew 6:25-34).

Ask God to show you the areas in your life where you need to trust Him more and be reminded of Him as your provider just as the table of showbread guides us to.
