When we think of Gideon we often think of a man who was a mighty warrior in battle for God. Someone who stepped out from Baal worship and stood for God and brought the people of Israel back to God - their first love.
All this is true but if you read the first conversation between heaven and Gideon you will see a different man. In Judges 6: 12-16 God calls Gideon to destroy the Baal alters and fight the Midianites but Gideon is full of fear and God spends most of chapter 6 encouraging Gideon that he is capable especially when God is with him.
Sometimes we all need encouragement and sometimes we want to be pampered, but God knows the difference and He will behave towards us in the way that is truly best for us - not necessarily what we want Him to do.
If you need encouraging today - God is your man but if you just want a pity party and a pamper God will stretch and challenge you!
