For this, their 14th studio album, the FFH couple of Jeromy and Jennifer Deibler adopt a more acoustic folk style than usual and provide a set of songs inspired by family worship sessions. There is a mixture of modern originals and classic oldies such as "Come Thou Fount" and "What A Friend We Have In Jesus". The vocals throughout the set are performed with delicacy, though sometimes too much so: "Be Still My Soul" with its sparse guitar backing leaving too much exposure for Jennifer's slightly thin voice. "As For Me" and "First Love", with Jeromy sounding like a younger Michael W Smith, provide the antidote, being good motivational songs of praise. The variety of strummed and picked instruments with strings and the basic hand percussion work best with the more gentle and traditional songs. For example, "Softly And Tenderly" includes harmonies so gentle and calming that they could be performed by a choir of cuddly toys. Meanwhile, the classic "Jesus Name Above All Names" is as soft and dreamy as a lavender scented cotton wool pillow. The rest of the CD unfortunately doesn't provide so much interest, but it does show glimpses of a potential new folk-worship identity for the group.
