Top hip-hop label Illect Recordings have impressively managed to get rappers Terem, Sivion, Sareem Poems, Change, Sojourn and Rel McCoy together to record a track that reminisces about family Christmases before telling briefly about the real reason for the season. Unfortunately, the whole thing is built around an amateurish looped piano lick - sounding for all the world like someone has sat themselves down at the keyboard and plink-plonked out a few random notes - and this, along with a bare bones drum and bass accompaniment, takes away from the skills of the assembled rapping collective. An instrumental version only serves to press home the substandard nature of the backing track whilst a version with all instruments removed and only the vocals left in - complete with long pauses - is a simply bizarre and altogether pointless inclusion on this already inferior release.
