An album featuring some of the best known soprano cornet solos for brass band together with some new compositions. One of the established pieces opens the album, "Demelza" is played by Kevin Crockford with the Grimethorpe Colliery Band and is beautiful, sounding like it might have been featured on a TV show. Indeed, it was used in part in the 1970s series Poldark. New material here includes "The Deep Bond" with its majestic feel, played superbly by Alan Wycherley. One of the outstanding pieces on the album is "The Lord's Prayer", performed by Peter Roberts with the Black Dyke Band which is guaranteed to raise the hairs on the back of your neck! Peter, along with the Yorkshire Building Society Band, also performs an excellent rendition of "Memory" from Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cats. All in all, this is a fantastic showcase of great musicians and without a bad track present on the CD, is highly recommended.

Product Description
"It is indeed a privilege and a pleasure to introduce this unique compilation CD recording featuring tracks that date back over 30 years! Here we have three extremely gifted musicians, whom I have known personally throughout my banding career. All three bring to each performance a unique inimitable personality and charisma; believe me, all three are quite colourful characters!
"I can recall countless contest performances of sheer magic that each, with their own respective bands, have delivered over the years and I can only marvel at their nerves of steel, year on year! That said, it is perhaps also the consistency of concert performances, week in week out, that places these three exponents of the soprano cornet in a league of their own. The personal pleasure it has given me to conduct Kevin, Peter and Alan on the concert stage is immeasurable. One hundred per cent commitment for every performance is undoubtedly the very reason for their lasting success.
"Three quite different styles of playing, but nonetheless each one earning, without question, the right to be described as a 'legend'! This recording is so unique that it is an absolute must for any brass player or any brass band enthusiast to own. Enjoy!" - Garry E Cutt
Brilliant playing, lovely music, I just keep on playing it. An inspiration - I wish I could play like that!
