NewDay is, of course, the annual New Frontiers youth event and this CD consists of live recordings from the August 2010 week. Featuring 12 live tracks of worship music led by Matt Redman, Jordan Dillon, Jules Burt, Lou Fellingham and Phatfish, it sounds as if it was a great event. The overwhelming impressions conveyed are of joy, energy and celebration, right from the opening strains of "Righteousness Of God" where we celebrate in Jordan Dillon's "You gave us your crown of gold to wear our crown of thorns," in Matt Redman's adaptation of Jesus' declaration that "The rocks are going to cry out if we don't". Other standouts are the glorious declaration of the attributes of God in Tim Hughes' catchy "Centre Of It All", the pathos of Lou and Nathan Fellingham's "See The Lamb Of God". As you might expect the playing is top notch, but the recording quality is also excellent, so much so that at times it's easy to forget this is a live CD. Recommended, even if you did attend the event.
