Hailing from WorshipSource comes this collection of hymns that are reputedly classified as favourites. The "biggies" of the church world are in there such as "Rock Of Ages", "Trust And Obey" and "Blessed Assurance" which get an outing on CD one and "Amazing Grace", "Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus" and "To God Be The Glory" which are examples of the hymns that are on CD two. My problem with this collection is that there is nothing new in the way that they are presented to the listener. Despite a personal fondness for old hymns I found that most of the arrangements were both dull and stilted even though they emanated from well known producers such as Scott Williamson, Eric Darken and Mark Baldwin. I suppose the one thing in their favour is that they have avoided the temptation to have all hymns set to church organ.
