This is a beautiful album which aims to help the listener enter into the world and imagination of the famous author and academic CS Lewis, through a variety of songs and instrumental pieces of music. Phil Keaggy, The Cheiftains and Moya Brennan are three of the more famous artists featured on this album of 14 tracks. The record has quite a Celtic feel to it, appropriate to Lewis' Northern Irish birthplace and some of the instrumental pieces help you to imagine the woods, mountains and valleys described in the Narnia books. For me the real strength of this musical tribute is that it points you towards the God that Lewis came to know for himself. It is a lovely album to put on as a background to prayer and worship, calming and peaceful, yet honouring to our awesome God, who like Aslan, cannot be tamed!
