Reviewed by Steve Best Justifiably described by Steve Chalke as "..a huge step forward in Christian youth software", 'Actual Reality1 is groundbreaking. This project was birthed in the USA (although we're promised a UK version eventually, along with a website, on line help, advice and follow up and fully comprehensive resources for youth leaders). The CD-ROM operates using QuickTime software which it will helpfully install for you if you don't already have it Once up and running the menu offers five principle sections, a Mission Statement, credits and acknowledgements section, and then three large areas worthy of longer investigation. There's also a Bible Verse Glossary, with verses on all manner of topics. This can be accessed from all other principal areas - where appropriate at any time. The biggest section by far is the Stuff To Know area, which deals with a whole host of issues to do with Christianity, using interviews with CCM luminaries such as Jaci Velasquez, Steven Curtis Chapman, Rebecca St James, Newsboys, Christafari, Out of Eden and even Britain's very own World Wide Message Tribe. The whole design is brilliantly innovative, totally user-friendly and completely devoid of any semblance of "cringe factor". It should be a very effective tool for introducing and arguing the Christian faith to those who are yet to be convinced. The Music sector is a virtual jukebox, featuring short video clips and artists talking about the issues behind the songs. This is a very exciting and innovative project and a giant leap forwards in evangelism. And when you send off for it you'll get all kinds of free stuff suggesting ways you can use it in evangelism. Brilliant.
