To have a movie about the early years of such a renowned Christian figure it is only fitting that the film's musical accompaniment comes from distinguished multi-million selling acts. The music, as to be expected, is predominately country with material from mainstream country artists like Alan Jackson, Sara Evans, Patty Griffin and, rather unexpectedly, the late, great Roy Orbison. Mac Powell makes his country debut singing with hitmakers Brooks & Dunn, covering Johnny Cash's "Over The Next Hill" opening the soundtrack. It sets a great mood. The selection of tracks serves as a great appetiser and I have no doubt that when the opportunity arises to catch it in the cinema I'll make the effort. Special highlights were the simply brilliant instrumental "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" impeccably performed by Brad Paisley, making his acoustic sing; Michael W Smith and Melinda Doolittle stirring the senses with Craig Wiseman's epic "Amazing Love"; and the plaintive closer "Just As I Am", a finale that I'm sure Billy Graham himself would approve.
