60 classic worship songs that have taken people into the presence of God, that have transformed lives and brought worship leaders to the fore. With such great songs how could this collection fail? Easy, when you turn them into wallpaper music. I have no doubt that these three CDs will sell by the bucket load, but if you’re looking for a CD that is going to be uplifting there are plenty of other collections around that will be much more rewarding. Take the song “Colours Of Day (Light Up The Fire)“ which was originally sung by Parchment – this song was one of the first singles to be released by a Christian band to make it into the mainstream charts and was inspirational to a large number of Christian musicians. Think of the Mike Sammes Singers getting their hands on this track, and that sums up the collection. The God that I know and love is creative and full of life and vitality. The only way that I catch a glimpse of that from this collection is if I turn the music off and read through the lyrics. The only reason that I do not give this one square is that I like the slide guitar!
