This compilation CD is billed as '10 Urban Gospel Hits' dedicated to college students (I'm thinking they need a good deal more than 10, but let's not be fussy) and ranges from R&B, funky urban gospel, to R&B flavoured pop. Here are some of the highlights. It kicks off to a great start with Lamar Campbell & Spirit Of Praise's "Can't Nobody Tell It" featuring a rap verse from J Moss. This makes you want to get up and dance across the room. The luscious harmonies of the Katinas follows with "Believe" which is a soothing ballad while the incredibly funky Montrel Darrett features here with "Rain", probably one of the best two cuts on here. Soulful, encouraging, just plain gorgeous. The best track is a remix of Out Of Eden's "Spirit Moves" featuring a great rap from T.R.U.T.H. (who, I have been informed by my hip hop-nut of a brother, is affiliated with hip hop group The Cross Movement). Anyway, it's a great one to pump in the car with the windows down (if only it was summer). "Sindy", which is a rather clever metaphor for sin, by Brent Jones & The TP Mobb is a lovely, honest ballad that shows the singer fighting temptation. Apart from those, all the other tracks are pretty solid. My only gripe is with the song "O, O, Baby" by Stacie Orrico who seems to almost be a Christian version of megastar Christina Aguilera and is out of place here.
