This 10-track compilation of artists from the EMI Gospel label is a real gem of a collection taken from a wide range of styles within the gospel genre. Sharing a common theme of being encouraged in our faith and trusting in God's promises this selection moves from the Destiny's Child style opener of "You Don't Know" by Kierra 'Kiki' Sheard via such avenues as the hip-hop gospel choir of "Stronger" with Mylon Butler and Levi and the old Clark Sisters classic "You Brought The Sunshine" by LeJuene Thompson starting with a screaming guitar solo and leading into a reggae rhythm and punchy horns. Also to be found are the traditional gospel choir of the Tri-City Singers singing the title track in mellow and powerful mood, the gentle acoustic guitar underpinning of Micah Stampley's prayerful singing on "Take My Life", the bass-led funk vibe of Darwin Hobbs to the closing track by perennial favourites The Mighty Clouds Of Joy with their inspiring "If Jesus Can't Fix It". A good taster of the breadth and variety of contemporary gospel and an uplifting set of great songs in its own right.
