An American compiled sampler highlighting some of the top independent Christian music released in Europe. Some familiar and unfamiliar names and as you'd imagine a variety of quality when it comes to production and creativity. Eurobands like Maybe June and Fields Of Harvest mix with British names like Skellig, The Honey Thieves, NSC and Nancy Sawyer. Strangely, there are two tracks from American indies Wonderboy PHD, whose loud plodding rock doesn't really add much, and The North Sky, whose acoustic-driven rock is equally okayish but not sure why either of them are on a Euro compilation. Hmmmm. Highlights? There's an unreleased As If track "Full Bloom" which is pretty fab and then there's some good funky rock from London band Xegesis which stands out. Strangely I also like the quirkiness of German band Woodencross even though they're singing in German and the only words I can make out are "Ghandi" and "Martin Luther King"! Good that European indies are getting some exposure and this promises to be the first of a few samplers which can only be a good thing.
