The Really Real Gospel Company were set up last year to help kick start the ministries of unknown Christian artists. A website, with pages for each of their artists, complete with music files - will, it is hoped, move some of the singers further along. Judging from this compilation that's a rather remote hope. 'Genesis' flounders through dull material, dreary arrangements and stilted production and is unlikely to attract many listeners. Everel Dixon sings in a Paul Robeson-style bass vocie, all mannered theatrics; Ian Wilson has a nice soul voice but is let down by cheap production; likewise Brequelle Monroe; 3D show some acapella flair but need a better song; Heather Rhule has the best song but the producer allows a painfully sour note at the close to ruin her performance; while Croatia's Frederik Miller is clearly out of place on this gospel compilation. The Really Real Gospel Company seem in need of a reality check.
