This series of song books (and CDs) are published by the United Methodist Church in the US and have been imported since early 2006. Books start at £6.99 and CDs are £10.99. Several leading music ethnologists are editors of this series. This is a book full of lovely songs, some tunes are more familiar than others but many are easy to pick up and to learn. All are written with a simple accompaniment for piano or guitar. Songs originate from all over Europe, USA, Puerto Rico, Zimbabwe and Mozambique. The book is set out in two sections, "Worship" and "Witness" which are then further divided into categories like 'service music' eg, "Sanctus" and "Gloria"; Holy Communion; Baptism; Psalms: Prayers and Benedictions. For those keen to see an international dimension in their church's worship times this is a very important resource.
