This is a curious compilation. There is no explanatory or introductory text anywhere, except the well known quotation from 1 Corinthians 9 about running the race. There are no artist credits, and no note as to the albums from which these tracks have been taken. What I can say is that this is a cracking collection of some of the best - mainly British - new(ish) worship songs written by and performed live by many of the current wave of worship leaders. CD one kicks off with Tim Hughes' "What Good Is It To Gain The Whole World", followed by Martin Smith's "Here I Am (Majesty)" and "Praise Awaits You" by Matt Redman, all of which sound as though they were captured live at an event like Soul Survivor. Nathan Fellingham, Paul Oakley, Stuart Townend and Godfrey Birtill also contribute songs on CD one, but there's also a beautiful arrangement of Fanny Crosby's "All The Way My Saviour Leads Me" to add some breadth to the repertoire. CDs two and three continue in the same vein, with perhaps a few less well known songs to CD three to make up the number. From stadium rock through gospel to traditional hymns, this bargain three CD set has a bit of everything.
