Here we have a perfectly "okay" collection of mostly already released worship songs themed, sometimes slightly tenuously, around the theme of God's justice. All the usual suspects are present and correct (Tim Hughes, Brenton Brown, Matt Redman, Johnny Parks, Dave Crowder) plus some unexpected or lesser known names (Robbie Seay, Leeland, Starfield). Seay's opener "Rise" kicks off a suitably rock 'n' roll first half - the pace slows down for Tim Hughes' "God Of Justice". Phrases like "You are a God who protects the weak" and "We don't deserve your never-ending grace" and "We must go" are thrown about and one gets the idea that the ultimate expression of God's justice is shown in what I can do; Redman's "Mission's Flame" touches on the world's real need - to know the Gospel. There's a nagging feeling that if I truly wanted a deeper understanding of God's justice in the light of Jesus' sacrifice, the songs on this CD - catchy as they may be in their own right - wouldn't much help. Having said that, the package (which includes chord charts and sheet music) does convey some insight with liner notes, encouraging the notion that the Church - and Christian individuals - are called to be the hands and feet of Christ. The CD is tied in with the Christian charity World Vision.
