I don't suppose God's Not Dead 2 will be anything like as successful as the first movie but at least the accompanying album is worth more than a cursory listen. There are some big CCM names here: Audio Adrenaline, MercyMe, The Afters and, of course, Newsboys (whose "God's Not Dead" song was a key promotion element in the first film). Michael Tait and the lads do a pretty good job on the song "Guilty" and the same can be said for MercyMe's "Welcome To The New" and The Afters' "Live On Forever". The relative unknowns here, Beautiful Eulogy and Jasmine Murray, also turn in reasonable cuts. Okay, so it's all a bit generic CCM but there is enough pop rock polish to make this compilation a reasonably enjoyable stand-alone sampler.
