From the opening piano and horn led modulation of "Giants" by the Tri-City Singers the scene is set for an exuberant, joy filled collection of life-filled and life-giving gospel music on this 10-track album. Next comes the soulful funk (with a wonderful Hammond B-3 backing) of the Heritage Christian Centre Mass Choir on "Jesus Will Fix It" which continues the upbeat feel of voices lifted in praise and sets a pace which rarely lets up. There are, though, quieter moments such as the soulful "I Really Am Grateful" by Lamar Campbell & Spirit Of Praise and the reworking of "I Just Want To Praise You" followed by "The Greatest Thing In All My Life" which makes up the "Bishop's Medley" by the West Angeles COGIC Mass Choir. The inspirational Richard Smallwood Singers also make an appearance with the passionate cry to God for his help "In The Shelter". This is an album that does exactly what you would expect, delivers great choral gospel music, old and new, with style, commitment and joy - a great choice if you are new to the genre and want to get to know more about what's on offer in the gospel music world, or if you already love gospel and want to add a good variety mix to your collection.
