This double album was recorded live during a special Heaven On Earth week in May 2001 at one of the most famous local churches in the world. I refer of course to the Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship. However you view the Toronto blessing, few would deny its huge impact on the world Church while it's become a place of pilgrimage for many songwriters and leaders on the cutting edge of worship. Here four worship bands, including the talented team led by Britain's Paul Oakley, run through many of the songs that have impacted the TACF congregation over the last eight years. The powerfully anointed David Ruis is particularly stirring while it's good to hear Jeremy Sinnot, who's been ministering steadily at the church since the earliest days of the renewal, is still there. There are one or two problematic moments (it will be hard to convince many that Robert Critchley's chorus "Great big God/Little bitty Devil/I sing my praise/To a great big God" does much to expand our spiritual understanding. And I'm a little suspicious of live worship albums that have "additional recording" done in another continent. A poor sleeve doesn't help either. But there's no denying the power and impact of much of the praise and worship captured here.
