If you are a fan of female worship leaders and singers, I probably don't have to tell you that this album is for you. Tracks come from artists such as Darlene Zschech, Vicky Beeching, Brooke Fraser and Mia Fieldes, with as many artists as there are tracks. The majority of the tracks have been studio recorded (as opposed to live), and production standard is excellent throughout the album (though this is down to the individual producers for each artist's album). The songs have been chosen well, avoiding the obvious tracks that seem to appear on most compilation albums. New Zealand's Brooke Fraser stands out with "Hosanna", a beautiful declaration of God's power and might, set to a stunning chorus. Also worthy of note are Vicky Beeching's melodic and catchy "Hallelujah What A Savior" and the gospel-influenced "Rise Up" by Rita Springer, a song which wouldn't seem out of place on a Jools Holland album (minus the Christian lyrics). The only problem is that this album feels a bit like a sampler, especially when reading the sleevenotes and seeing the list of albums from each of these artists. However, it's an ideal place to start if you want to discover some of the current wave of female worship leaders.
