Reviewed by Richard Toller Four double CDs, all previously released and themselves compilations of material from other Integrity Music titles (mostly), now collected in a box set giving you 118 songs and over eight hours of music. Here are all the best known songs from the Integrity Music stable, along with many of their versions of worship classics from other sources, so this is a pretty good worship compilation - with a couple of provisos. First, you have to like the Integrity Music style. Particularly on the first two double CDs there is little variation from the formula of squeaky clean production with lots of female backing vocalists and of repetition of simple lyrics. There's a wide range of lead singers/worship leaders including Integrity "house" names like Don Moen and Ron Kenoly and "guests" including Graham Kendrick, Darlene Zschech and many more, but the production makes them all sound pretty much the same. Arrangement is not chronological but there is a noticeable development in the sound on the two later collections, and variety is added on the fourth double CD with tracks from other sources including Matt Redman, Delirious? and Vineyard UK. My other reservation is the simple repetitive nature of most of the songs, which needs to be balanced with more substance. You're likely to end up listening to a few really satisfying tracks from the many, but if you want a big collection of simple worship songs, if you like the Integrity Music style, and if you don't already have many of these in your collection, this could be just what you want.
