Keeping the homies happy with urban gospel where the emphasis is on urban, gospel maestro Percy Brady and label mate pals C D Hawkins, Greg O'Quin and Jet Penix get their hands on eight contemporary gospel tracks and remix them to fine effect. Some of this stuff is laid back, the remixers have chosen to change the vibe rather than turn out an album of stomping hands-in-the-air dance cuts - the feel is instead suitable street! C D Hawkins lakes a couple of songs off his 'Mighty Fortress' album and has fun changing them around, the hip-hop feel of "Onward Christian Soldiers" is particularly effective with an understated almost tense haunting backing track. Brady remixes Kelli Williams' "It's Gonna Be Alright", giving it a brilliant swingbeat feel, and kicks new life into Marvin Sapp's "Use Me". However, the biggest surprise is the Jet Penix transformation of "I Wish", surely the least memorable songs on her debut album, which suddenly becomes a brooding moody monster of a song complete with a Coolio-style intense rap. Worth buying just for that one song!
