This is the accompanying CD to the Kingswaysongs 002 CD-ROM songbook. The title describes its content pretty accurately, although there is some licence taken with the word "new" in that while the majority of songs date from 2005 or '06 several go back a little further, including one to 2002. There are 230 minutes of music spread evenly over three CDs and most of the current heavyweights are represented leading their own material (including Chris Bowater, Paul Oakley, Matt Redman, Stuart Townend, Brenton Brown, Geraldine Latty, Andy Bromley, Godfrey Birtill and Keith Getty), most of them with two or more tracks featured. The songs are arranged alphabetically across the set of CDs (which is helpful until the stage of intimate knowledge of the recording is reached) but there are no lyrics included - you'll have to buy the songbook for those. A good variety of moods and tempos are present across the set and arrangement, performance and production values are very high (many of the tracks are recorded live). However, while there are without doubt some excellent songs here there are some others too of more mediocre quality. Overall though, a good resource and/or addition to the collection for those times when you just want to sing your thanks and praise out loud.
