Reviewed by Tom Lennie There seems to be no let up in the output of worship collections. Here's another batch of 50, as collected by Kingsway and grouped, clumsily as far as song content is concerned, in simple alphabetical order. Once again we could quibble over the word "new", but, while few tunes are as recent as 2007, very few pre-date 2006! (except a tune by Mark Beswick, which goes back to '98 - how did that get in?). Songs and artists are pulled predominantly from the British sector, the few exceptions include giants like Darlene Zschech, Chris Tomlin and the David Crowder Band (his irresistible "Everything Glorious" features here). Big names from this side of the pond, such as Redman, Hughes and Oakley, all make happy appearance, as, too, do loads of lesser- or little-known musicians. And it's not a clear-cut case of the big names dwarfing the "little ones" - many strong songs come care of the latter category. Just a few of the favourites to my ears were a couple of Andrew Mitchell's piano-based beauties, particularly "I Want To Sing A Song (Take My Life)"; Andy Smith's "How Can I Become (Forgiven)" and Evan Rogers' multi-lingual "We Rejoice". Yet another excellent worship resource for any adventurous congregation (CD-ROM songbook has to be purchased separately), or just for repeated individual enjoyment.
