Let me tell you a story! I once tried to buy Tommy Tenney's God Chasers from an American Christian bookshop who told me they didn't stock "that kind of thing" on theological grounds and yet had shelves and shelves of Left Behind books. This clearly proves that the American Christian public prefer theologically questionable fiction to books that might actually inspire them to pursue God more deeply. And so, here's another cash in on the Left Behind franchise sweeping the American church, this time with its eye on the urban hip-hop market. However, if this is urban hip-hop it sadly contravenes the trades descriptions act. Step forward light weights True Vibe, faux soul pretender Nikki Leonti and (incredibly) P.O.D.. Sigh! Come on luvvies, you're on the wrong CD, people! Now then, who's left that's any good? Soul Purpose are a collaboration between Gotee brother Todd Collins and rapper KJ-52 which works really well on their "Don't Stop". KJ shows up again later for "Right Now" which cleverly tells a story by name checking every Christian artist you can think of! Very inventive! Elsewhere other standouts include contributions from TobyMac, Playdough, Out Of Eden and Cross Movement. It's mainly stuff that's already been previously released but hey! You pays your money.
