The 'Live To Worship' series of compilation CDs from Furious?/Fierce! have been gaining a solid reputation as one of the first places to look to sample the best of modern worship music. The third instalment in the series should do nothing other than cement that reputation. The 28 tracks spread across two discs comprise some of the best songs from the last few years, with a few classic tracks thrown in for good measure. Many top rate songs AND SINGERS (no anonymous cover versions here) are featured, including Tim Hughes, Hillsong, Michael W Smith, Vineyard and Matt Redmond. Some of the perhaps lesser-known artists and composers also present their own delights. These include "Indescribable" by Cathy Burton and Ben Cantelon's "Love Came Down". A few older songs like "Angus Dei/Worthy" by Third Day, "My Glorious" by Delirious? and MercyMe's "I Can Only Imagine" provide a pleasantly familiar feel and the fact that the album mixes up studio and live recordings adds another welcome tonal flavour for the listener. The worship album market is currently a hotly contested one. The 'Live To Worship' series continues to provide that little extra which is needed to catch the ear.
