An interesting album bringing together the old and the new in gospel music ranging from solo artists to church choirs. My first reaction was, "Oh no, not another millennium CD," but fortunately, there are many redeeming features to this CD. From Tramaine Hawkins to Trin-i-tee 5:7, you are led through a diverse collection of funk tunes to mellow ballads. This is a great resource if you are fresh to the genre, as this album indicates where gospel has come from and where it is going to. It is "easy on the ear" for those who don't normally listen to this type of music, and yet will please the ardent gospel fan. Don't let the poor album sleeve deceive you - this CD is the cutting edge when it comes to the latest in contemporary artists. Quite frankly, it makes you want to go out and join a gospel choir!
