First track up is the classic "Let's Just Praise The Lord" performed by TD Jakes And The Potter's House Mass Choir. It's exquisite in its execution, it's a great song, the melody fits neatly over the chord progression shouting out "listen to me." TDJ does his inimitable talk/rap over the second half of the song, talking about the kind of church The Potter's House is, he even manages to get the word "ethnicities" into the groove. The performance is alive - I can just see the sweat spraying out as he twists and turns pounding the stage. Next up's "Hosanna" by The Christian Cultural Centre, a new-ish song, which is pushed along by fast programmed drum triplets, mmmmmm tasty; first-class tune and rendition. There are 14 mega-songs from some of America's mega-churches. Excitement, anointing, outstanding playing characterise the CD. "Everybody Ought To Know" is arranged as an anthem that the congregation will find it hard to resist joining in with. "I Was Created To Worship You" pulsates at the exact same frequency as the oscillation of a human body at rest. "Get Back Satan" jitterbugs along in a forward motion, it's grrrreeeat. What more can I say about this feast of musical praise? It's all meat, a real treat.
