For any music fan who would like to get to know a few more choral-based gospel groups, this could be a good introduction. Gospo Centric has had a lot of talent on its roster during the last decade or so, including Kirk Franklin, Kurt Carr, Byron Cage, J Moss and so on. But many of these artists wouldn't be much without the choirs behind them, so don't expect extravagant R&B style solo performances. But do expect some powerhouse choirs, charismatic cheer-leading, and more typical funky-blues based backing bands. Having said that, there are two diverse acts tagged onto the end: ragga man Papa San and old school hip-hop's Gospel Gangstaz, probably used as stocking-fillers as they don't fit too well with the rest of this collection. Otherwise, it's a convenient way to catch up on the last 10 years of this record label's output.
