If your idea of heaven is rousing hymns being sung by thousands, this CD is for you. Here are 12 classic hymns of various church traditions - from the Anglican "Christ The Lord Is Risen Today" to "It Is Well With My Soul" sung in large Songs Of Praise" type settings and led by unnamed singers and musicians. Some of the musicianship here is patchy. The highlight for me is a beautiful arrangement of Graham Kendrick's "Servant King" - incidentally, the only hymn on the CD that could remotely be called contemporary. The lyrics to all the featured hymns are included, which is helpful. Less helpful, given the likely age group of the target audience, is the fact that the words are printed in a small white on black typeface.
