The TV advertised 'Best Worship Songs...Ever' turned out to be the UK's biggest ever selling worship album and its sales were richly deserved, bringing together as it did a fine selection of many of the best worship songs. Now this new project has arrived and if anything, the results are even more impressive. Great lengths have been gone to to not only compile many classic worship recordings (Delirious? "Thank You For Saving Me", Keith Green "There Is A Redeemer", the Newsboys "He Reigns", Matt Redman "It's Rising Up", Chris Tomlin "Famous One") but the record companies involved have even gone to considerable trouble to ensure that no old cheesy recordings have slipped through, preferring to make new renditions of songs like "I Am A New Creation", "Meekness And Majesty" and "Jesus Is The Name We Honour". When you hear what the delicious voice of Susan Ashton adds to the corny Heartbeat oldie "Celebrate" you will no doubt agree that it was worth the trouble. There are even a few contemporary version so hymns, like Wayne Drain's classic reading of "Be Thou My Vision" to extend further the appeal. A 50-song, three CD set which will surely be a huge best seller.
